Home Renovations

We have been a mess around here with a full on home renovation. We got 22 new windows, our leaky sunroom ripped out and the wood trim wrapped in vinyl. We have been busy the past few weekends painting all the trim on the windows they put in. Here are some pictures...

Easter

We had a great Easter, despite the terrible rain most of the weekend. We had bunny pancakes Saturday morning to kick the weekend off.



We went to the Hillcrest Farmers Market and got these at a bake sale there.



Sunday we went to church and then had lunch at my sister's house.

Carter lately

We have been taking a few steps forward and a few steps back lately.
Update #1
We have been bottle free since
Saturday. We have been struggling with sippie cups. My sister, who works at Helping Hands and has clients with eating and drinking issues suggested this Honey Bear straw cup. So far so good.


Update #2
Eating table food. Some nights are good and some are bad. He loves blueberry pancakes seen below. A lot of meats and other foods we are trying end up on the floor for Rascal.


Update #3
This is not the bath face we see anymore. :( We are going through a "I hate baths" phase.

We are in a big boy carseat now!



Besides that he is still our sweet, snuggly boy!

Why I don't think Peppy la Pew is cute anymore

Well since this is a topic that has taken up a lot of my life lately I might as well do a post on it.
We have skunks- under our house.
We have been "skunked" on and off for a year now, usually it entails a lot of febreeze, candles and airing out of our house. But a few weeks ago it got bad, so bad that we woke up to the most horrible skunk smell ever! I walked into daycare and they said "oh no you have been skunked again." Co workers can smell us and our house just straight smells, we cant escape it! So now we have hired someone to catch the skunks and we now have a running total of 8 to come from under the house!!!!!!
So now you can see why I don't think the cartoon character peppy la pew is so cute.




Don't worry animal lovers, no skunked were harmed. They are taken to a remote location and let go.

On Tuesday we had our big event, the Arkansas Business of the Year Awards. It was awesome to help plan and be apart of.


It is a 700+ dinner where we honor 30 finalists in different business and non profit categories and announce the six winners. Here are some pictures from the event-

The Busy One Year Old

We have a active one year old on our hands! I wanted to do a post on his monthly stats and changes.
He is not walking but is pulling up and becoming more confident in this.
We had to lower his crib because he started standing up in it.
He is crawling and opening doors all over the house.
We had our 12 month check up and he weighed 19.06 lbs and 28 inches.
His favorite toys are balls and the stackable cups.
He has 4 teeth up top and two on the bottom.
We started drinking milk instead of formula this week.
He loves puffs and fruit.
He hates peas
We are just venturing to table food.
He says dada, mama and randomly has said yes a few times.
Loves to cuddle and be tickled and when he hears music dances.
Can kinda wave, clap his hands and high five.
He has started to get some stranger anxiety.
Boy how much he is changing all the time! We love him so much!!!

First Birthday Party

This past Saturday was Carter's first birthday and our party for him. I can't believe how fast this year went by and how much he has grown and changed.
The party went great. We had friends and family to our house with a monkey theme. Here are pictures of decorations and the party!
